  • With the transfer window now officially open from July 1, the frenetic nature of speculation is only going to increase.

Rumours are starting to gather pace and we take a look at the latest stories doing the rounds in the media.

Will any of the following deals happen?

    IVAN PERISIC

Ivan Perisic has left Inter’s training camp as Manchester United continue talks over a deal for the winger the Metro reports.

The official line from Inter is that the 28-year-old is suffering from a toothache and has left their training base in Riscone di Brunico, Italy to visit his personal dentist in Croatia for treatment.

United have already had two offers rejected for Perisic but an improved bid of €50 million (£44m) was offered this week.

Jose Mourinho’s side opened negotiations with a €40m (£35m) bid, which was rejected by Inter, while their follow-up offer of €45m (£39.5m) was also turned down.

    RATING: 9/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

With every passing day it seems more and more likely that Perisic will be a United player next season. A toothache is as flimsy an excuse as any for not being present for Inter’s preseason amidst so much transfer speculation.

Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he is looking for two more signings to come in and a wide player is said to be one of the roles that needs filling.

In that regard, Perisic fits the bill. He would bring a level of maturity and efficiency that’s absent from United’s current options out wide. Following the acquisition of Romelu Lukaku, the Croatian’s crossing could prove to be a major asset next season.

    NABY KEITA

Naby Keita is expected to respectfully reiterate his desire to leave RB Leipzig for Liverpool as the determination to get a deal over the line is strengthened.

The Reds have had an opening offer of £57 million rebuffed for their priority target as the Bundesliga side once again affirmed the midfielder is not for sale.

Leipzig’s sporting director Ralf Rangnick has been consistent with this message, stating not even a three-figure sum could convince them to let the Guinea international depart.

However, Goal reports that sources in Germany reveal his stance is not fully supported within the club and there is growing pressure to make a smart business decision.

    RATING: 7/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

Leipzig have played it well so far and have stretched Liverpool’s resolve to the limit. But now it’s time to cash in. Keita, at this moment in time, is nowhere near worth the fees being quoted.

The German club would be foolish to pass up on the opportunity to sell him for a sum that’s surely far greater than his market value.

Liverpool wouldn’t be still at it if they didn’t have inside information that a deal can be brokered.

    PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG

Chelsea are closing in on a £65million deal for Borussia Dortmund hotshot Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to the Mirror.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is desperate to solve his striker problem and Chelsea are now in pole position for Aubameyang, after missing out on Romelu Lukaku, and finding it difficult to land Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

The move is set to spark a striker merry-go-round as Dortmund have now entered formal talks with Arsenal for France striker Olivier Giroud after Mirror Sport revealed their interest.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

It’s no secret that Chelsea are in the market for a top striker and Aubameyang would certainly add a great deal to their firepower.

However, it seems strange that Conte would opt for the 28-year-old when he could instead sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

The Italian rates the 24-year-old highly and signed him while at Juventus but didn’t get the chance to work with the Spaniard as he left to take up the post as manager of the Italy national team.
