  • Ivory Coast star Jean-Michael Seri could make a surprise switch to Barcelona in the coming days after the Catalan giants revved up their interest in the midfield star.

While Blaugrana are still chasing wantaway Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho, Ernesto Valverde is also keen to add another midfielder to his squad following last week’s acquisition of Paulinho.

Barca feel they need more legs in that area of the pitch, particularly after missing out on main midfield target, PSG’s Marco Verratti.

And according to Marca, the Spanish giants are in talks with Seri’s representatives to thrash out a €35m deal for the Ligue 1 man soon.

Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez is set to be a busy man as the club also wait and see if they can tempt Liverpool to cash in on Coutinho for around the €150m mark.

The Reds rejected a third bid from Barcelona on Friday.

While Barca are keen to spend the cash they brought in from the world-record sale of Neymar, both Andre Gomes and Rafinha will likely head the opposite way and out of the exit door.
