  • The transfer window may not open again until January 1 2018 but that hasn’t put an end to plenty of speculation throughout Europe.

    HENRIKH MKHITARYAN

Inter Milan are interested in signing Manchester United Henrikh Mkhitaryan on loan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport .

The Serie A club are unlikely to be able to sign the Armenian on a permanent deal, but feel a loan move is more feasible.

Inter face stiff competition from his former club Borussia Dortmund with Mkhitaryan currently out of favour at Old Trafford.

    RATING: 6/10

    VERDICT

Although he is considered a popular figure at the club, Mkhitaryan has fallen down the pecking order after a disagreement with Jose Mourinho earlier this season.

The player is believed to be considering a move away from Old Trafford as he knows his place in the Red Devils’ starting XI is not guaranteed.

A move to the Bundesliga seems more likely as Mkhitaryan spent three seasons at the Westfalenstadion from 2013-2016 – and it could be a chance to rediscover his old glittering form.

    ROSS BARKLEY

Tottenham are set to swoop for Tottenham Hotspur star Ross Barkley, according to the Express .

The Whites are considering a £25 million bid – half of what Everton valued him at during the summer.

The England international has not featured yet this season as he continues to step up his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Mauricio Pochettino will face stiff competition with Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham all interested in acquiring Barkley’s services.

    RATING: 6/10

    VERDICT

Spurs have identified Barkley as a long-term replacement to the injury prone Mousa Dembele, but no concrete deal has been submitted yet.

With Chelsea seriously considering a move for the Everton academy product, a bid will need to be tabled soon.

If either of the clubs get the 24-year-old for £25 million, it could be one of the bargain buys of the January transfer window.
