The transfer window is heating up and we have our daily transfer gossip column to keep you in the loop.

Here, we look at the top headlines doing the rounds in Europe’s media on Tuesday.

    RED DEVILS TRACK RAPHAEL VARANE

Manchester United could swoop for the Real Madrid centre-back in the summer, according to reports. Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho had made it clear he wants to strengthen his defence this summer and has identified the French star as a man who fits the bill. The Special One brought Varane to the Bernabeu back in June 2011 and is a big admirer of his talents. Given the 24-year-old has endured an indifferent season at Los Blancos, the Red Devils are confident they can end the former Lens star’s seven-season stay in the Spanish capital in a few months’ time.

    RATING: 8/10

    VERDICT

According to sources in Spain, Los Blancos are ready to cash in on Varane and the France international may benefit from a fresh start and a move to the Premier League. With doubts over the long-term futures of Chris Smalling and Daley Blind, Mourinho is said to be confident Varane could strike a partnership with either Phil Jones or Eric Bailly.

Varane’s positional play has been criticised this term.

    PSG CHASE SERGEJ MILINKOVIC-SAVIC

French giants Paris Saint-Germain have made initial enquiries about the possibility of signing the Lazio star at the end of campaign. Le10Sport have reported that PSG want the Serbian international to form part of a new-look midfield next term and are prepared to pay big-money to land the 22-year-old. The former Genk prodigy has been in outstanding form of late, having struck 10 goals in all competitions.

    RATING: 6/10

    VERDICT

Milinkovic-Savic would cost a small fortune to put it mildly, with Lazio set to command at least €60m for his services. That said, money is typically no object for the Parisian side so expect their hot pursuit for his signature to gather pace once the season is over. However, the Ligue 1 table-toppers will face competition from Juventus.

    22-year-old Milinkovic-Savic is a hot property in Serie A.

MARCUS RASHFORD COULD LEAVE MAN UNITED IN THE SUMMER

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has hinted that the Red Devils striker could exit the Old Trafford club in the summer.

The England striker has fallen down the pecking order, starting just 13 Premier League fixtures this seasn and with the recent signing of Alexis Sanchez, his chances of regular first-team football look slim.

Speaking on Sky Sports‘ Monday Night Football, Henry said: “Leave is a strong word because I’m sure being from there he wants to play for United but he has to play,” Henry said. “It’s going to become even more difficult for him because Sanchez has arrived.”

“I think at the end of the season he’s going to be thinking ‘do I stay?’”

    RATING: 5/10

    VERDICT

Despite not being a consistent starter, Rashford has still netted 10 goals in 37 appearances but the 20-year-old has not established himself as United’s main frontman. United won’t be keen to cash in on the homegrown prospect but the player himself may force a move.

    Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford has found it frustrating this term.
