  • The January transfer window may be shut but there’s still plenty of news from the rumour mill with several moves being put off until the summer.

Here, we round-up the transfer tales that have got everyone talking.

    MAURO ICARDI

Manchester United will need to table a bid in excess of £135 million if they are to sign Mauro Icardi.

The Inter star has scored 18 goals in 24 games this term – and is edging closer to agreeing a new contract at the San Siro.

The Argentine, for all his brilliance, has yet to play in the Champions League and giant clubs are queuing up to land his signature.

The 24-year-old is under contract until 2021, but the Serie A side are hoping to extend his stay in Milan.

Icardi knows that there is a ceiling for him in Italy, with opportunities to win major trophies limited, and a move to England or Spain will offer him a perfect platform to achieve the success a player of his level deserves.

    ARTHUR

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Gremio star Arthur and hope to sign the midfielder next January.

The Spanish giants’ hierarchy had watched the dynamic attacking midfielder in action in Gremio’s run to Copa Libertadores glory in November.

The 21-year-old talent, who is comfortable in either the No.8 or No.10 midfield roles, is in high demand and is expected to star at this year’s World Cup in Russia.

That all means it will be tough for Gremio to keep hold of their star.

    ALLISON

Roma want to include a €90 million release clause in Alisson’s contract as Liverpool and Real Madrid hunt his signature.

The Brazilian is currently keeping Manchester City’s Ederson out of a place in the national team and has been heavily linked to the Reds this summer.

The 25-year-old has impressed at Stadio Olimpico over the last 18 months and would be a welcome addition to the Reds.

With Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet rotating between the sticks, Jurgen Klopp needs to find a new keeper if they are to seriously compete for honours.

    ISSA DIOP

Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona have joined the list of clubs interested in signing Toulouse centre-back Issa Diop at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a promising season with the Ligue 1 side, and despite his young age, is captain at Stadium de Toulouse.

European clubs have been raving about the Frenchman since he marshalled Neymar well against PSG last weekend.

Diop looks like he has an immense amount of potential, and to have leadership qualities at such a young age is extremely difficult for clubs to find.
