  • Though the winter transfer window just passed and the summer window is still months down the road, that hasn’t stopped the chatter of players potentially being on the move.

Across the world of football, there remains plenty of activity and stories that have football fans talking.

Here, we look at five potential transfer candidates that could be heading elsewhere when the market reopens in June.

    DAVID DE GEA

Man United are set to fend off growing Real Madrid interest and make David de Gea the highest paid goalkeeper in the world on £350,000 a week, according to the Daily Star.

The Spaniards current deal expires at the end of 2019, but there is an option to extend his contract by another 12 months.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marouane Fellaini expected to be off the wage bill in the summer, that would help Jose Mourinho fund De Gea’s significant pay rise.

The 27-year-old has kept 15 clean sheets in 27 Premier League matches this season.

    JEAN-MICHAEL SERI

Liverpool have emerged as favourites to sign Nice star Seri as Jurgen Klopp looks to find a replacement for Juventus-bound Emre Can, according to The Sun.

The German’s contract expires at the end of the season and is being heavily linked with a move to Turin.

Klopp is looking to bolster his options in the middle of the park after securing Naby Keita from Red Bull Leipzig and is now edging Man United in the race to sign the elusive Seri.

The 26-year-old Ivorian also attracted the attention of Barcelona last year, but Liverpool appear to be keen as they’re monitoring ongoing developments.

    RYAN SESSEGNON

Man City have joined Man United and Tottenham in the race to sign Fulham left winger Sessegnon, The Sun reports.

The clubs are willing to go as high as £40 million to secure the 17-year-old’s services, who took his goal tally for the season to 14 after netting the winner against Derby on Saturday.

Sessegnon, who has regularly been compared to Gareth Bale due to his versatility down the left, is tempted by a move to North London due to the chance of getting more game time.

Fulham are bracing themselves for a host of offers for Sessegnon this summer and City’s interest looks set to start a bidding war.
