Across the world of football, there remains plenty of activity and stories that have football fans talking.

    BLAISE MATUIDI

Manchester Untied have reignited their interest in the Juventus midfielder, the Daily Mirror reports.

Jose Mourinho previously tried to sign the France international during his time with Paris-Saint-Germain but the move never materialised.

With Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera struggling for form of late, the Red Devils believe Matuidi will be the answer to their midfield problems as they attempt to improve on what has been a mixed season at Old Trafford.

The Serie A champions are expected to fight hard to keep the 30-year-old who has developed into a key figure at the Allianz Stadium.

    MAYCON

Arsenal have reportedly held talks with Corinthians over a move for their highly-rated midfielder.

The Gunners were linked with Maycon in 2016 shortly after he had made his debut for the Brazilian side but no move ever materialised.

The 20-year-old has remained at the Corinthians Arena to further his development but is yet to be capped by the national side.

But it appears the North London outfit are ready to re-ignite their interest in the playmaker.

According to Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte, Maycon is keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.

    LUKASZ PISZCZEK

The in-form Borussia Dortmund defender has brushed aside interest from Chelsea and AC Milan by committing himself to the Bundesliga club until 2020.

According to Bild, the 32-year-old added a further 12 months to his previous deal at Westfalenstadion, which he agreed last April.

The Polish international joined Dortmund from Hertha Berlin in 2010 and has made close to 300 appearances in all competitions.

He is one of the remaining stalwarts of the side that clinched back-to-back Bundesliga titles under Jurgen Klopp in 2011 and 2012.
