  • Jose Gaya is a highly-rated defender.

The summer transfer window is open and across the globe there is a frenzy of speculation as players and coaches look for their next moves.

Already there is plenty of activity and stories that have football fans talking.

Here, we look at the latest transfer deals that could happen very soon.

    JOSE GAYA

Manchester United have ditched their pursuit of Juventus star Alex Sandro and are instead tracking the Valencia full-back, The Mirror reports.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to strengthen his defence, particularly on the left-side, with Luke Shaw set to depart.

Gaya, 23, who rose through the ranks at the Mestalla, could be available for around £30 million (Dh146m) but would no doubt leave Los Che with a heavy heart.

Having already clinched the signing of Porto right-back Diego Dalot, the Red Devils’ defence is likely to have a fresh look to it next season.

Gaya has a contract with Valencia until 2020.

    RUBEN LOFTUS-CHEEK

Everton are tracking the Chelsea and England midfielder, according to a report in The Mirror.

The dynamic midfielder, 22, is currently on World Cup duty with the Three Lions but has struggled to hold down a first-team spot with Chelsea – the team he grew up with.

Loftus-Cheek spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace and it remains to be seen where he will be playing his football next term, given there is uncertainty over Antonio Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, the Toffees have also been linked with free agent Jack Wilshere as new Blues boss Marco Silva gets to work on rejuvenating his Goodison Park squad.

    WILLIAM CARVALHO

Inter Milan have moved into pole position to acquire the defensive midfielder’s signature, Calciomercato reports.

The 26-year-old is a free agent having cancelled his contract with Sporting Lisbon, one of several players to do just that after a group of fans attacked club staff at the training ground.

Although the Portuguese side are threatening legal action against the player’s decision, that hasn’t stopped the Serie A giants’ pursuit of the World Cup star.

Arsenal, West Ham and Everton have all been linked with his services but the Nerazzurri have apparently already opened talks with his representatives.
