  • Gaya could make a switch to the Premier League.

The transfer window is well and truly open.

With the rumours growing in pace and volume during this ‘silly season’, it can be difficult and painstaking to separate the stories of some legitimacy from the rest of the white noise.

Fortunately, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do it for you.

Below, you’ll find some of the latest transfer news churned out of the rumour mill broken down and analysed for your benefit along with our calculated predictions.

RUBEN LOFTUS-CHEEK – CHELSEA TO EVERTON

Ruben Loftus-Cheek impressed after coming on against Tunisia.

Everton are tracking the Chelsea and England midfielder, according to a report in The Mirror.

Why it will happen: The 22-year-old England star is not guaranteed first-team football at Stamford Bridge, but would get plenty of game time at Marco Silva’s Toffees.

Why it won’t happen: Loftus-Cheek may want to stay and fight for his place next term or indeed secure a move to a side playing European football.

Prediction: It is a tough call at the moment given he is immersed in the World Cup, but expect him to make a big call on his future when he returns to the UK.

    Rating – 7/10

JOSE GAYA – VALENCIA TO MANCHESTER UNITED

New option: Jose Gaya has emerged as a key United target.

Manchester United have ditched their pursuit of Juventus star Alex Sandro and are instead tracking the Valencia full-back, The Mirror reports.

Why it will happen: The Red Devils will be making plenty of defensive reinforcements this summer and the Los Che full-back fits the bill as he brings pace and energy down the left.

Why it won’t happen: With the prospect of Champions League football next season at his boyhood club, he could well agree to stay at the Mestalla for at least another campaign.

Prediction: This move will almost certainly boil down to the player’s decision, with Valencia apparently willing to accept a bid in the region of £30 million (Dh146m) for his services.

    Rating – 8/10

DANIELE RUGANI – JUVENTUS TO CHELSEA

At 6 ft 3 in, Rugani is a towering defender.

At 6 ft 3 in, Rugani is a towering defender.

Chelsea are very close to completing a deal for the Juventus centre-back, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Why it will happen: The Blues are set for a summer of change at Stamford Bridge and are desperate to strengthen their defence. Italian Rugani would be a great addition given he is still only 23.

Why it won’t happen: It has been suggested that the two clubs are still haggling over a fee, reportedly in the region of £31m (Dh151m).

Prediction: The Old Lady are keen to sell and this deal should be pushed through imminently.

    Rating – 8/10
