  • Boateng was close to leaving Bayern this summer.

Jerome Boateng was one of Germany’s poorest performers in their limp defence of the World Cup this summer – and he could be ready to flee the country, with Paris Saint-Germain willing to snap him up.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that PSG has opened communications with both of the defender’s agents, though there has been ‘no direct contact’ as yet between the two clubs.

Bayern are looking to pass the torch on to Niklas Sule, who joined Bayern last summer, and are happy to let Boateng go.

A fee of between €50 to 60 million has been mooted and earlier this week, Manchester United were also sniffing around the 29-year-old as they aim to add more experience to their defensive ranks.
