  • Milinkovic-Savic will remain in Rome.

Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic did not even discuss the possibility of including a release clause in his new Lazio contract, according to his agent.

Milinkovic-Savic, 23, was touted as a €130 million-target (Dh552.4m) for the continent’s grandest clubs after a stellar 2017/18 in Rome that included 14 goals in 48 matches. The midfielder also shone at World Cup 2018 for Serbia.

Talk of an imminent move was ended this week when he joined Italy striker Ciro Immobile in inking new terms until 2023. Rumours have grown that a set fee is included in the terms, but representative- and ex-Serbia striker – Mateja Kezman has rejected this stance.

“Sergej, Lazio and we in his entourage are all very happy with his new contract,” Kezman told LaLazioSiamoNoi.

“We’re looking forward with positive energy. The club is strong because they kept all of last season’s players, there’s a serious project and they want to play in the Champions League.

“So, everyone just has to concentrate on doing their best and making all the Lazio fans happy.

“No-one talked about a release clause, Sergej is very happy in Rome. He’s been here for three years and he loves the club and the city.

“He’s concentrating on recapturing his best form.”
