  • Hudson-Odoi has impressed in sporadic outings for Chelsea, and his Stamford Bridge future remains unclear.

Borussia Dortmund have joined Bayern Munich in the chase for Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Goal.

The 18-year-old impressed during the Blues’ pre-season but has made only two competitive starts under Maurizio Sarri, prompting speculation over his long-term future.

Hudson-Odoi’s current contract will run out in 18 months, with Chelsea so far unsuccessful in their attempts to sign the youngster to a five-year extension.

Bayern are said to be leading the chase for the young Englishman’s signature, but Dortmund are also allegedly interested, with their history of developing young talent possibly giving them an advantage.

The form of Jadon Sancho, who has thrived at Dortmund after rejecting a long-term deal at Manchester City and leaving the club where he rose through the academy ranks in order to secure first-team football at a European power, may sway Hudson-Odoi to follow a similar path.

Dortmund’s interest in the player was allegedly raised with Chelsea during talks between the two clubs over the availability of Christian Pulisic, the American who has starred for the Bundesliga side but has recently been linked with a move to the Premier League.
