Chelsea‘s players are resigned to losing Eden Hazard next summer, with many in the squad believing the player has already agreed a contract with Real Madrid.
Hazard’s Chelsea contract expires in 18 months, and little progress has been made in finalising a new deal.
“There’s a feeling in the dressing room that he’s agreed a deal to go to Real Madrid,” said former journalist Ian McGarry on Sky Sports’ show Sunday Supplement.
“The reason he’s so calm about everything and not having contract negotiations with Chelsea is he has this option and he’s just waiting to exercise it,” McGarry added.
Hazard has been flirting with a move to Madrid for a while, having previously said playing for Los Blancos is a dream.
The Spanish giants were said to be pursuing a move last summer, though nothing materialised.
However, after their struggling start to the season there is a feeling that Madrid need to make a big-name signing.
