Real Madrid are closing in on River Plate midfielder Exequiel Palacios with the player’s agent suggesting that a move to the Bernabeu is nearing completion.
The European champions are front-runners for his signature after talks were held while both clubs were in UAE for the Club World Cup and the player could make the switch in the summer.
“The leaders of River got together with Real Madrid in Abu Dhabi,” Renato Corsi, the player’s agent told La Oral Deportiva de Radio Rivadavia.
“In the coming days there will be a formal offer and the operation is quite advanced.
“The family, Exequiel and I want him to go in June and Real Madrid don’t have a problem with him staying at River until then.
“A deal could move to the next stage as early as Monday, with talks already being advanced.
“Real Madrid want him and supposedly River will sell,” he added.”They agree, so between Monday and Tuesday the formal proposal will be presented.”
