  • Denis Suarez played for Emery at Sevilla.

The winter transfer window is in full swing especially with Premier League clubs racing to get deals over the line before their January 31 deadline.

With the rumours growing in pace and volume during this ‘silly season’, it can be difficult and painstaking to separate the stories of some legitimacy from the rest of the noise.

Fortunately, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do it for you.

Below, you’ll find some of the latest transfer news churned out and analysed for your benefit along with our calculated predictions.

    DENIS SUAREZ

Arsenal and West Ham are set to battle it out to sign Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez, the Sun reports.

Why it will happen: The 25-year-old has struggled for first-team action at the Camp Nou and has decided he needs to leave the club in order to get more playing time.

Why it won’t happen: Only if something drastic happens. A late swoop from another team or if negotiations over personal terms collapse.

Prediction: The Gunners may well bite the bullet and meet the £20 million asking price for the Spaniard who could be a real star under Unai Emery.

    Rating – 8/10

    KRZYSZTOF PIATEK

Real Madrid are interested in a winter switch for Genoa’s in-demand forward Krzysztof Piatek, according to AS.

Why it will happen: Piatek could force a move through this month. Playing for Madrid would be huge for him and his scoring form could help a Madrid side looking devoid of any magic in front of goal this season, with just 24 strikes in 18 matches.

Why it won’t happen: Genoa are not keen on letting go of one of their best talents, who has scored 13 goals in 19 matches this season. If the 23-year-old was to leave, he may struggle for minutes at Madrid.

Prediction: Although the Poland star is one of the best rising stars in the game, he should continue his development in Serie A this term before making any significant decision on his future.

    Rating – 2/10

    CALLUM HUDSON-ODOI

Bayern Munich are preparing a bid to sign highly-rated Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi, reports the Mirror.

Why it will happen: The 18-year-old England star is not guaranteed first-team football at Stamford Bridge, but would get more game time at Munich, especially with the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery leaving the club at the end of the season.

Why it won’t happen: Hudson-Odoi may want to stay and fight for his place or indeed secure a move to a side playing European football.

Prediction: It is a tough call at the moment, especially when he has buckets of talent and wants to play regularly, but expect him to make a big call on his future at the end of the season.

    Rating – 4/10
