Al Serkal said he’s delighted to meet with one of the most influential sports figures in the world and thanked him for visiting the FA.

“We have discussed the affairs of the game and the possibility of cooperating with Liverpool. I’m confident the visit will be of great benefit for both sides and establish a strong link between them,” he said.

Henry said he’s impressed with the managerial capabilities of Al Serkal and the way in which the FA is operating.

“The purpose of the visit was to discuss a number of issues of mutual interest and I’m happy to be in Dubai where I have plenty of friends,” he said.

“The upcoming period could see Liverpool’s youngsters staging a short training camp at the UAEFA premises with a future plan to rehabilitate and exchange players between Liverpool and the UAEFA,” he said.

Henry presented at the end of the meeting the Reds’ jersey carrying the name of their skipper Steven Gerard for Al Serkal while the FA boss presented to him a memento.
