  • Two-goal star: Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid hero Cristiano Ronaldo insists his side must guard against complacency when they head to Paris with a two-goal advantage in the second leg of their Champions League clash.

Up until the last 10 minutes it looked as if Paris Saint-Germain would be leaving the Bernabeu with a draw and crucially, an away goal after Adrien Rabiot’s opener.

However, Ronaldo – with the help of his knee – added to his first-half penalty before Marcelo made it 3-1 and left PSG with a mountain to climb to rescue the round-of-16 tie at home.

And the Portuguese also tipped his hat to the Bernabeu’s support, which had become increasingly frustrated by Real’s poor form in La Liga.

“The tie is not over yet,” he said. “We have to go to Paris to win and to score goals, to be calm and to qualify for the next phase.

“The fans have helped us a lot and we felt their warmth. It has to be that way.

“Marcelo’s goal was very important, he played a good match and he deserved it.

“When goals are scored and your team wins, it is always special. Today it started and I scored two.”
