  • No Lionel Messi, no problem for Barcelona as goals from Rafinha and Jordi Alba put down a hugely disappointing Inter Milan at Camp Nou.

With Messi watching on and cradling his broken arm from the stands, Barca had little trouble breaking down the Serie A side, though it did take a quite unbelievable assist from Luis Suarez for Rafinha to open the scoring.

Jordi Alba wrapped up the game 10 minutes from time, but they were never in any danger of conceding an equaliser, as Mauro Icardi and Co offered next to nothing in attack.

Check out our Inter ratings below:

    INTER MILAN (4-2-3-1)

Samir Handanovic – Quick to react to some close-range efforts, albeit not particularly well-directed ones. 8

Danilo D’Ambrosio – No disgrace but just does not have the dynamism of Vrsaljko, who was only named on the bench. 5

Milan Skriniar – Never looked comfortable against such quicksilver movement, but won his fair share of battles. 6

Miranda – Solid enough in defence having got nod over De Vrij, but didn’t help Inter with ponderous play at the back. 5

Kwadwo Asamoah – Awful attempted headed clearance fell straight into the path of Lenglet, who should have scored. 5

Matias Vecino – The best of a poor bunch. Created the only chance for Icardi and incredibly dogged in a losing cause. 7

Marcelo Brozovic – Chasing shadows for most of the night, giving away four free-kicks and regularly unsettled on the ball. 4

Antonio Candreva – A decent defensive shift, if being generous. Touched the ball a mere 16 times before going off at half-time. 4

Borja Valero – Was warned for persistent fouling by the ref almost immediately after kick-off. His only contribution. 3

Ivan Perisic – One promising moment when he beat Roberto and whipped in nicely. The second moment never came. 5

Mauro Icardi – In his one clear-cut opportunity, tripped over his own feet when battling Lenglet. Flopped on the big stage. 4

    SUBSTITUTES

Matteo Politano – On for Candreva at half-time, did more offensively in his first five minutes alone but blazed over. 6

Lautaro Martinez – Youngster was a desperate throw of the dice in attack and couldn’t catch fire. 5

Keita Balde – On the pitch for nearly 20 minutes and touched the ball five times. 4
