  • Griezmann is poised for Barca but he could also prove key in a myriad of transfers across Europe this summer, including Paul Pogba's future.

Paris Saint-Germain gave Manchester United an almighty reality check as a second-half masterclass at Old Trafford all but secured their place in the Champions League quarter-finals with a 2-0 victory.

Presnel Kimpembe, who could easily have been sent off for a second yellow card on two occasions, connected with an Angel Di Maria corner. The Argentine then assisted again with a low cross that Kylian Mbappe tucked home.

Mbappe had several more chances to rub United’s noses in it further, and there was more agony for the hosts just before full-time as Paul Pogba was shown a harsh second booking – and will now miss next month’s return leg.

It brought Ole Gunnar Solsjaker’s unbeaten run as interim United boss to an end at 11 games. We have the PSG ratings below:

    MAN UNITED (4-3-3)

David De Gea – Fine save from Mbappe’s header down at his near post, went on to thwart attempted lob. Could have been uglier 7

Ashley Young – Captain for the night, his side lost the plot in the second half and he did nothing to rally his troops. 5

Victor Lindelof – Given the relative ineptitude around him, was solid without really imposing himself on an electric attack 6

Eric Bailly – Still waiting for the Ivorian to gain a semblance of composure. Stopped while Mbappe stormed onto Di Maria’s cross 4

Luke Shaw – There were times where he was close to opening up space down the left-hand side before being foiled by the sturdy visitors 6

Nemanja Matic – Everywhere in defence in first half, offensive intent with forward passes too, but inexplicably lost Kimpembe for goal 6

Ander Herrera – Kept it tidy for the most part with his passing, for some reason was drawn into pot shots when United needed better 6

Paul Pogba – More over-exuberance than excellence. One lung-busting run aside, saw Marquinhos in his wing mirrors all night. Sent off. 5

Jesse Lingard – Had a sprinkling of bright moments and always a willing runner before his night came to an early denouement through injury 6

Marcus Rashford – Stretched the play on rare United forays, but no one near his whipped-in balls. Ultimately outshone by the class of Mbappe 5

Anthony Martial – Looked like a contender for an early substitution even before he was forced off. Several lazy touches on an off-night 4

    SUBSTITUTES

Alexis Sanchez (45′) – The husk of a player he once was. Big European nights are why he was presumably handed a boat load of cash. 4

Juan Mata (46′) – Not really the model idea of an impact sub. His lack of pace was always going to be shown up by PSG. 5

Romelu Lukaku (84′) – Should the Belgian have been sent on earlier? The Red Devils looked bereft of ideas long before this point. N/A
