  • Suarez sanctioned: The Liverpool star won't feature again until October.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided that Luis Suárez is to be suspended from playing for four months and is banned for nine official International matches.

The first match of this suspension is to be served in the upcoming FIFA World Cup fixture between Colombia and Uruguay on 28 June 2014. The remaining match suspensions shall be served in Uruguay's next FIFA World Cup match(es), .

Suarez is regarded as having committed assault and an act of unsporting behaviour towards another player according to the laws in the Fifa Disciplinary Code.

FIFA's ban for Suarez's clash with Italy's Giorgio Chiellini on Tuesday ended the forward's involvement at the World Cup and was the third time the 27-year-old South American star had been banned for biting an opponent.

Additionally, the Liverpool forward will also be ordered to pay a fine in the amount of 100,000 Swiss francs.

It has been estimated that Suarez's latest ban will see him miss at least nine matches at the start of the new Premier League season in August.
