  • In demand: Jabra’s SPORT ROX in-ear headphones.

From Beats to Bose, the headphones market is a tough one to crack these days.

With the slightest of designs able to pack more punch than some stereo systems and a plethora of unique additions to every new release, manufacturers are constantly bidding for ways to stand out and sell more units.

Danish company Jabra are no different and they are making remarkable strides with their sport specific offerings.

The SPORT ROX headphones utilise Dolby technology to deliver pulsating soundtracks to your sporting endeavours but it is in the intricacies of their makeup that they truly shine.

Their EarWings and EarGels are two of those inventions that highlight this.

The small hooks of the former sit in the ridge of the ear’s Cymba Conchae to deliver stability to the headphones, negating any disruption that may be caused on your run, cycle or row; whatever it is you’re doing.

Adding an extra layer of comfort are the Gels which surround the speaker that enters the ear canal.

Both are practical and comfortable and come in different sizes tailored to the user. This attention to design and the needs of each individual are subtle little touches that make SPORT ROX a worthy competitor to the rest of the industry.

The technology doesn’t end there, either.

Unique Power Magnets snap the headphones together for easy tidying away, while the steel design (built towards US Military standards) protects against all types of weather, including sand – an obvious challenge in the UAE.

They are also wireless, which allows the user to sync their music from a device and the handy Jabra app is there for additional support.

Comfortable, unique and carrying a custom fit for users, the SPORT ROX are as practical as they are ground-breaking.

All-in-all, it’s a very nice offering from Jabra.

VERDICT: 8/10 – Bearing their own identity, with simplistic yet necessary add-ons, this is a triumph in sporting headphones and design.
