The Al Ain Aerobatic Show winds up at the Al Ain International Airport today with one of the highlights of the three-day event.
All eyes will be on the skies on National Day at 16:15 as an Etihad Airways A346 performs a fly past for visitors at the event.
Aside from this spectacle, there is an action-packed aerial programme on offer to keep everyone riveted through the day. Aero-themed interactive activities will keep visitors and families engaged.
A wide range of aircraft displays, interactive event partner stands, runway demos, a new public food court, a dedicated kids zone, family flight deck, in addition to roving entertainers and performers promise to keep the whole family occupied with something to do every second.
There will be stilt walkers, jugglers, face painter, pilot bear walkthroughs, busker signing performances, balloon and swing rides, climbing wall, gyroscope, cultural village, pit lane walk throughs, meet-the-pilot signing sessions and hot-air balloon rides to keep you busy. There is also a family park and a kid’s play area.
This is the 10th staging of the show and the organisers say that the larger seating areas and an all-round upgrade of its video and audio offering allows fans to get closer to the action, with specialised air-to-air cameras and in-flight deck pilot feeds adding a whole new viewing experience to the visiting public.
The Al Ain Aerobatic Show is the world’s only aerobatic festival that has military and civilian aircrafts, stunt displays and competitions, cultural and family activities on one platform.
Some of the world’s top pilots are in the UAE and they will compete in three disciplines of air racing. Daredevils in gliders and wingwalkers will show their amazing aerial skills.
Other show features include entertainment, restaurants, cafes and merchandise stalls. The Saudi Hawks, comprising six Hawk MK65 aircrafts, performed their signature manoeuvre at the show which involved creating the biggest national (Saudi) logo in the air.
The stunt, which is included in the Guinness Book of World Records, elicited huge applause from the crowd. They will be giving another exhibition at 13:30 today.
First Lieutenant Turki Hazzazi, public affairs and media officer of the Saudi Hawks, said. “We love coming to the Al Ain Aerobatic Show as the audience has always been very appreciative.
"This is the seventh time that we are participating in this show. Among the other good things we like about this event is that many international teams participate on a much grander scale. We are truly proud to be representing Saudi Arabia in one of the most established aerobatic shows in the world.”
The show is jointly organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) and the UAE Air Force and is supported by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC). General Admission Tickets cost Dh40 for adults and Dh20 for children aged 12 years and under and these can be bought at the venue.
