The battle for the World Twenty20 glory continues as the tournament approaches its latter stages and what better place to watch the action unfold than at Velocity.

Situated at JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai, the venue is a firm favourite for visitors for sporting events. Top football, rugby and tennis matches including the Six Nations, English Premier League and Champions League, have attracted huge numbers and the World Twenty20 has been no different.

All the matches including Sunday’s clashes between Australia and hosts India (18:00), and West Indies and Afghanistan (13:30) will be broadcast live.

With five 109 inch LED screens and one 75 inch television screen, it means wherever you sit or stand, you will not miss that important run-out, wicket or boundary.

While watching the games, you can indulge yourself into some delicious meals. Their menu includes a great selection of appetizers, sandwiches and burgers as well as light salads, casual entrees and American dessert.

On top of that, there is a special menu for the competition including quesadillas, nachos, and buffalo wings.

“The design of Velocity is modern, stylish and contemporary. On entering guests are drawn in by the state-of-the-art audio visual equipment. Multi-screen monitors and large screen projection provide endless opportunities to entertain the crowd,” said bar manager Vasudevan SK.

“It’s an entertainment destination bar and lounge.”

He added: “So far the matches have been a huge success. There have been some really good matches including the Pakistan-India game and the India one-run victory over Bangladesh on Wednesday.

“The atmosphere during those games was electrifying and as we approach the latter stages of the tournament, we expect even more people to attend including the final.

“The World Twenty20 is just one of many tournaments that we show. We show live football and rugby games including the Spanish La Liga and English Premier League and along with live music and great service, a lot of people keep visiting again.”

With the competition reaching its final week ahead of next Sunday’s final, SK insists there’s plenty of reasons to visit.

“It’s going to be a memorable visit. There are some intriguing cricket games and have a wide selection of beverages and food dishes. It’s a great venue to visit with your friends and family.”

Entry is free while all guests must be 21 and over.
