Children will not be short of options for entertainment over the next three months thanks to Dubai Kartdrome’s Summer Camp.
In partnership with Gulf Star Sports, the camp got under way on Sunday, and runs in weekly sessions (Sunday to Thursday) from 09:00 to 13:00 until August 25.
Open to youths between seven and 15-year-olds, the kids can look forward to plenty of fun and exciting activities.
On the agenda during the five days, includes indoor karting, laser tag, simulator racing and billiards competitions, while there’s prizes up for grabs.
The Dubai Kartdrome and Gulf Star Sports are no strangers to organising summer camps. Now running in its fourth year, it has gone from strength to strength attracting hundreds of youths over the summer.
Considering there are 40 places available per week, it’s for that reason that parents should not wait long in enrolling their children.
“Gulf Star Sports have been offering summer camps in partnership with Dubai Autodrome for the past four years and every year, these camps have proved to be very popular,” said Matthew Ralton, senior operations manager of Gulf Star Sports.
“The first few weeks of the summer generally sell out so we advise parents to contact us quickly to book. The kids always go home happy, and we find many of them return throughout the summer.”
He added: “The Kartdrome camp will act as a welcome change from the normal multi-sports summer camps where kids tend to be tired of the same games and wide age ranges.
“With us, the kids will experience a high adrenaline thrill ride from start to finish. We are unique in that we are the only summer camp offering go-karting and laser tag during the day.”
Prices are Dh1,150 per week, while sibling discounts and day passes are also available.
With the camps already proven to be a big hit, Ralton insists there’s plenty of advantages for children.
“Parents who want their kids to enjoy fun activities this summer should definitely consider the Kartdrome Summer Camp. They have the opportunity to learn new skills with fantastic tuition from the experts at the Dubai Autodrome, under the guidance of expert coaches and qualified teachers at Gulf Star Sports,” he said.
“They will make new friends and we ensure that every child thrives within this competitive environment. Kids never leave this camp disappointed and they only leave wanting more.”

A new fitness studio has just opened its doors in The Marina, Dubai and is running some events throughout the summer. The first takes place on Saturday at Lululemon in Marina Mall where you can participate in a Body class with Stefani Bertoncini.
The importance of a balanced fitness regimen which incorporates all the components of fitness may not be obvious until injuries start to creep in. Unless you have a personal trainer or access to multiple gyms/fitness studios, it’s almost impossible to know what you should be doing and where to go to get it.
DEFINE Dubai might just be the answer. DEFINE believes that strength + length = balance and their classes are designed around this premise. DEFINE Dubai offers three classes only, but this is all you need to keep body, mind and soul in perfect health.
The studio, based in Silverene Tower, near Pier 7, Dubai Marina has just opened and is offering the free Define Body class, a perfectly balanced 60 minute session of strength and flexibility exercises to sculpt and condition the entire body, to give you a taste of what they do. It is a combination of Pilates, yoga, barre and core strength, using props such as balls, weights, resistance bands and straps to vary the workouts and increase intensity. These classes are fun and fast paced which ensures that the heart rate remains elevated throughout to help boost metabolism.
If you can’t make this weekend, don’t worry because you can keep an eye on their Facebook page as other events are planned. They are also offering a free introductory class at the studio, so you can visit their website to view the schedule and book. The other two classes which complement Body are Revolution and Mind: Rev is an indoor cycling class which will improve your cardiovascular fitness, but the use of drills and weights makes it a full body workout on the bike.
Mind is a restorative combination of yoga stretching, ball rolling to release soft tissue tension, inversions in the hammock to decompress the spine and relaxation to relieve stress. The combination of all three classes has an extremely powerful effect on wellbeing.
