  • There are 45 rides, slides and attractions for people of all ages.

Spread over 15 hectares, the Emirati-themed venue is home to 45 thrilling rides, slides and attractions that will certainly keep people of all ages smiling when they hit the waters.

Since opening in January 2013, thousands have flocked to Yas Island for what is now one of the most popular attractions in the UAE.

And you can see for yourself why it’s highly regarded with the place open all year round.

Whether you like adrenaline-rush rides or want something less adventurous, there’s something for everyone.

“As the only Emirati-themed waterpark in the world, Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi provides guests with a unique opportunity to experience authentic local culture and heritage while enjoying a fun day out with family and friends,” said Bianca Sammut, general manager.

“Little ones can splash in one of four dedicated kid’s zones such as Marah Fortress and Yehal. On the other hand, those looking for an adrenaline rush can take a plunge down the steep Jebel Drop, or dare to step into the Liwa Loop.

“All of our rides are temperature-controlled, making our wave pool – Amwaj – and the slower-paced Al Raha River the perfect places to dip in and beat the heat. The summer season also gives us a chance to extend our operating hours until 22:00 on Fridays to provide guests with even more time to enjoy the rides.”

Several types of passes are available to be bought this summer.

General admission tickets start from Dh325 for adults and Dh285 for juniors, who are under 1.1 metres with two-day, annual and family passes also available. Additionally those who are under three-years-olds can enter the park free.

Sammut insists it will be a memorable experience whether you’re a first time visitor or returning again.

“This is a great experience in an underwater adventure like no other,” she said. “Whether a resident or tourist; guests of all ages from across the world can immerse themselves in an Emirati culture in a fun and engaging way.

“We have a jam-packed calendar of events that ensure exciting activities for the entire family. For example, we are excited to have the ‘Iftah Ya Simsim’ characters visiting every weekend throughout the summer until Eid Al Adha, to delight and entertain the family.
