  • There will be prizes won including Air Arabia flights.

Hosted by Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club (SGSC), there’s everything to play on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 December with attractive prizes on offer.

Played in a Gross format, players must hold a valid handicap with an index limit of 20, although higher handicapped golfers can compete for the net prizes.

Now in its ninth edition, the annual tournament has gone from strength to strength, attracting a strong turn-out of entries and next month’s will be no different.

“The Men’s Open Golf Championship is the flagship event of the year for us,” said Phil Scott, golf events manager at SGSC.

“It has always been a great success in the past with full fields and a fantastic two days of golf.

“Our aim is to provide a first-class golfing experience at an affordable price on a championship course. We aim to draw in the best players from around the UAE with players set to travel from Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai.”

Additionally for Dh895, players can purchase the Preparation Pass which includes unlimited golf course and academy access from Sunday to Thursday prior to the tournament.

With registration closing on Sunday, Scott insists it’s one not to be missed.

“The course will be in immaculate condition as we’ll be hosting the European Seniors Tour event in March and this will allow the players to experience the very best when they take to the course,” he said. “Traditionally, it’s a great weekend of golf which is played in full championship conditions.
