“The Men’s Open Golf Championship is the flagship event of the year for us,” said Phil Scott, golf events manager at SGSC.
“It has always been a great success in the past with full fields and a fantastic two days of golf.
“Our aim is to provide a first-class golfing experience at an affordable price on a championship course. We aim to draw in the best players from around the UAE with players set to travel from Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai.”

“There will be live scoring, order of merit points on offer as well as having the opportunity to practice in fantastic facilities.
“This means it will be a great experience, while most importantly it’s value for money. With good prizes to be won, including Air Arabia flights, we are looking forward to hosting another fantastic tournament.”

“The day falls on a Friday so there’s no excuse not to join,” she said.
“A lot of people will be off from work so it’s a great way to get your friends and family together and mark the occasion of UAE National Day in style.
“It doesn’t matter whether you exercise regularly or not. Walking is something that all people can do and that’s why we chose this form of exercise for this event.”
She added: “Mamzar Beach Tracks is a beautiful venue for this as it’s very safe with no traffic, plus once the walk is finished, people can go to the beach and enjoy the rest of the day.”
Entry includes a finisher’s medal, race bib, downloadable certificate and refreshments.
Given it is the first time the event is being held, Un Nissa insists it will be memorable occasion.
