Dubai is never short on ways to exercise and now the emirate has another workout experience that’s sure to be a hit in Barry’s Bootcamp.

The original boutique lifestyle brand has opened its first Middle East location at Central Park Towers in DIFC, with the studio marking the 13th Barry’s Bootcamp location globally.

The space is custom-designed to accommodate a studio with a 50-person capacity, while also featuring their signature Fuel Bar, serving up Barry’s own recipes, healthy smoothies and snacks, along with a clothing boutique selling Barry’s original workout apparel. Other amenities include a men’s and women’s locker room and a selfie station.

As far as what fitness fanatics can expect, Barry’s is a one-stop signature class to a leaner and harder body, with the workout results driven to push participants to their physical and mental limits.

Barry’s signature method utilises the most effective combination of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) by incorporating 25-30 minutes of interval-based cardio-vascular routines on treadmills with 25-30 minutes of strength training using free weights, resistance bands, and more. A one-hour class incinerates fat, burns up to 1,000 calories, and releases stress.

The studio calendar is uniquely customised to focus on a different body part each day of the week, offering participants a complete, full-body fitness regime. No class is ever supposed to be the same so participants never plateau.

Do arms and abs on Monday, legs on Tuesday, chest, back and abs on Wednesday, hard core abs on Thursday and a full body workout on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to round out the week.

Barry’s classes are also held in dim lit, red studios to motivating playlists. The room adds an element of excitement to the workout while enabling participants to dig deeper and lose themselves in the physical moment. The instructors coach and motivate the group to run and work harder so partici-
pants can maximise their results.

You can check out the Barry’s Bootcamp experience for yourself in Dubai, with introductory sessions priced at Dh80, while class packages and memberships are also available.

Here’s your chance to be part of a noble cause by joining labourers in the third edition of the Labour Run next week.

On Friday, March 31, hundreds will line up at Muhaisnah 2 in Dubai and with registration extended until Wednesday, there’s still time to sign up. The last two editions have been hugely popular and next week’s is expected to be no different.

Organised by Team Sports UAE, the event is backed by the UAE Athletics Federation and Dubai Sports Council, and an opportunity for the labourers to enjoy an active lifestyle.

“The fact that we are not going to charge the labourers is significant,” said Meher Un Nissa, event director.

“They have been registered for free as it’s a chance for us to say thank you for the hard work they put in, in making the UAE a great place to live in. Overall, it’s a chance for them to get rid of all the anxiety and tension of the daily routine work that they do from Sundays to Thursdays.

“With such a hectic schedule, they don’t have time to enjoy an active lifestyle so since it’s on a Friday when they are off, it will give them an opportunity to do so.”

She added: “It isn’t just about the labourers. It will be a big day and we want as many people in the UAE to join them as it will be a great occasion.

“There will be social and professional runners taking part and it’s an opportunity to run in an event which is showing support.”

If you’re a beginner or experienced runner, there are two different distances to choose from with a 3km and 10km run on offer. As well as prizes for the winners in each category, there will also be a chance to win some attractive prizes in the raffle draw.

With registration closing on Wednesday, Un Nissa insists there will be plenty of positives by signing up.

“This is the third time we will be organising this and the last two editions have been really popular,” she said.

“Runners have really enjoyed the experience of taking part and most importantly supporting the labourers. While registration numbers have been encouraging, we hope to see an increase in the coming days.”
