  • Don’t miss out: Become one of more than 500 people expected to take part in the night run.

The event returns on Wednesday, April 12, from 19:30 at The Track, Meydan Hotel. Entries have already been positive so far and with registration closing on Tuesday, there’s still time to sign up.

The series, backed by Dubai Sports Council, has already proved to be popular in major cities around the world and Dubai has been no different.

In the second race of the season, more than 500 runners took to the road and this month’s is set to be no different.

Athletes will start from The Track and make their way to the iconic illuminated Meydan Royal Bridge, which will offer social and experienced runners unbelievable night-time sky line views with a challenging “up-and-down-hill” course.

If you are new to running or have plenty of experience, there are two categories to choose from, with five and 10km on the agenda. Race director Warren van der Merwe from organisers Super Sports Events is thrilled with the growth of the series and expects even bigger numbers.

“It is great to see the energy and enthusiasm from runners the nights runs have delivered,” he said. “Puma #IGNITEDXB have also played a huge role in supporting this series by bringing their urban branding to the races.

“We hope by the end of this race, we would have reached over 2,000 runners across the series.” Different age groups are available with entry costing Dh175.

Included in the fee is a Puma running top, electronic chip timer, a medal, photos as well as a post-race meal and drink, providing a perfect opportunity to meet the rest of the athletes and make new friends.

Rahul Singh, Qube restaurant manager at Meydan, said: “This is a whole new dimension and concept to running races for us here at Meydan and we are very grateful to Puma and Super Sports for hosting these races with us.”

He added: “It looks like the runners normally come straight from work, get changed in to their running gear and then start to relax and look forward to the race and the food and beverages we offer them afterwards.”
