Here’s your chance to be part of a noble cause by joining labourers in the fourth edition of the Muhaisnah Road Run.
Next Friday, hundreds will line up at Muhaisnah 2 Sonapur,Dubai for another community race and with registrations open until Thursday, there’s still time to join them.
Ever since the event was launched, it has gone from strength to strength and next week’s edition promises to be no different. Organised by Team Sports UAE, it gives an opportunity for social and experienced runners to join labourers in taking to the track and start the weekend on a healthy note.
“We have had three editions before and they have all been very successful,” said Meher Un Nissa, event director of Team Sports UAE. “They have become a community oriented event and it’s getting very popular with every edition that we host. This time we hope there will be another positive response.
“Many labourers don’t have a chance to do much exercise so this is a great way for them to start getting active. We have given 250 free entries for labourers to come and take part. It’s an opportunity for them to get rid of all the anxiety and tension of the daily routine work that they do from Sundays to Thursdays.”
If you’re a beginner or an experienced runner, there are three different distances to choose from with 3km, 5km and 10km runs on offer. As well as prizes for the winners in each category, there will also be a chance to win some attractive goodies in the raffle draw.
With a few days to go until registration closes, Un Nissa is hopeful of seeing an increase in the number of participants.
“We want people to sign up because we want to see as many experienced and social runners taking part,” she said. “It’s an important part of the event as each registration we receive, means that one labourer can run for free. This will be for an amazing cause your participation will make a huge difference.”
She added: “In previous editions, runners have really enjoyed the experience of taking part and most importantly supporting the labourers. While registration numbers have been encouraging, we hope to see an increase in the coming days. It isn’t just about the labourers. It will be a big day and we want as many people in the UAE to join them as it will be a great occasion.”
