  • Dubai Sports World has been a big success since it was opened

Eid Al Fitr is now upon us and you can mark the occasion in style by getting active with a series of sporting activities at Dubai Sports World.

With football, basketball, tennis, cricket, volleyball, badminton and table tennis just some of the sports on offer, you won’t be short of options over the festive season.

While padel, street basketball, cycling and running also available, for those who want to unleash their inner Ninja, you can do exactly that with their Ninja Warriors assault course.

There will also be Battle Park shooting games featuring two themed fields: the laser-based iBattleField and iTarget, an electronic auto target system – both perfect for mastering every paintball skill.

On top of that, golfers can also get into the swing of things by trying out a virtual golf course. It’s the perfect opportunity for avid golfers and newcomers to experience a virtual golf environment through cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) sports interface.

For basketball players, they won’t want to miss out on the Street Basketball Champions tournament when it begins on July 14. Players will get a chance to slam dunk their way to the top and not only be crowned champions but will cash prizes of up to Dh10,000. Entry is Dh1,000 per side with matches on Saturday and Sunday evenings 21:00 to 23:00.

Dubai Sports World has already attracted big numbers and Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council said:The exciting display of sporting spirit and collaboration between different members of the community at the parade is a perfect example of what the UAE stands for; which is tolerance, respect, and togetherness. In fact, as we celebrate the Year of Zayed, it is important to remember that our founding father emphasized on inclusiveness and urged people of different nationalities, gender and religions to come together to create a vibrant society.

“We are committed to continuing his legacy and providing a platform for the residents and visitors to come together in an environment where they can play their favourite sports and enjoy new activities,” he added.
