The temperature may well be rising but you can still get into the swing of things by taking advantage of some special promotions at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club this summer.
Their deals have been hugely popular since it started on May 15 and with it running until September 30, there’s still plenty of time to see for yourself why it’s highly rated.
Their four and half month membership costs Dh2,950 for full, while their Midweek is priced at Dh1,575. For Country Membership, it costs Dh950.
For those who want to practise their skills on the greens, guests can play 9 or 18 holes from Dh125 while the price for Midweek and Country members varies between Dh55 and Dh105. For those who hold a Loyalty Pass or is a members’ guest, can play 9 or 18 holes from Dh85.

On top of that, you’ll also get 50 per cent discount off subscription value against any annual membership after the summer. This includes their gym, crossfit, pool, tennis and basketball facilities.
“Like other clubs in the UAE, we have summer offers each year though this is the first year we have done this specific promotion for four and a half months. Fifty per cent of the subscription can be redeemable against annual membership after the summer,” said Martin Duff, director of golf at the venue.
“We have been getting a lot of interests since we launched it and many of them have already joined.”
He added: “The membership rates are fantastic and apart from the golf course and academy facilities, they also include access to our health club facilities and basketball courts.
“As the golf course is floodlighted, players are not restricted to endure the sizzling temperature and can enjoy their game at night when it’s much cooler. Members have the opportunity to play competitive golf throughout summer when there’s considerably less golf activities held around UAE clubs. There are various membership options available to suit every golfers need.
“The best feature of the summer membership this year is that 50 per cent of the subscription fee will be redeemable against any annual memberships come October when we will also have our annual October membership offer going on.”

Kids can get behind the wheel and take to the karting track during the school holidays thanks to Dubai Kartdrome’s Summer Camp.
In partnership with Gulf Star Sports, children aged between 7 and 15, can get fantastic driving tuition from the experts at Dubai Autodrome. As well as testing your driving skills in the kart, the camp will also include many opportunities to race against others, developing your knowledge and beat your best lap times as the week goes by.
On top of that, it isn’t all about go-karting. Kids can have a blast with laser tagging in the medieval maze, while there will be also plenty of activities to keep them busy with race room simulators, billiards tournaments, playstation alley and fun games.
Gulf Star and Dubai Kartdrome are no strangers to hosting summer camps with their previous editions proving hugely popular and 2018 looks set to be no different.
“Gulf Start have been organising this summer camp in partnership with Dubai Autodrome for the past five years and every time they have been successful,” said Matthew Ralton, senior operations manager at Gulf Star Sports.
“Children take part in the main activities which include go-karting, laser tagging and race simulators. Children actually receive karting tuition from the highly skilled instructors at the Dubai Kartdrome and gradually improve their lap times as the sessions continue throughout the week.
“Additional activities include billiards, playstation alley, team games, quizzes, challenges and much more. At the end of the week, children are rewarded throughout the week with certificates and medals for their achievements and their behaviour.”
Running in July and August, the camp timings are from 09:00 to 13:00 with 08:00 drop-off also available. With a few weeks to go until the camp begins, Ralton insists there are plenty of positives for parents to enroll their children.
“Camps are extremely popular and spaces are limited, so parents are encouraged to act fast to book their child spaces,” he said.
“The Dubai Kartdrome camp is one of the best camps in the UAE. Kids arrive excited and leave each day with a sense of achievement and joy. Staff are well trained professionals who focus heavily on child well-being as well as providing the backdrop for an incredibly fun and high energy camp.”
