FC Dubai and It’s Just Football are teaming up again to deliver two exciting programmes for budding footballers this summer.
From July 1 to August 30, they will be holding another summer camp at Al Quoz and Dubai Sports World as well as their first-ever Elite Football Development camp at the latter venue.
The summer camp is open for children aged between 4 and 12 with sessions at Al Quoz running from 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 16:00. For those attending at Dubai Sports World, classes are held between 10:00 to 13:00.
For those who want to develop their knowledge and skills over the summer period under highly qualified coaches, then the Elite Football Development camp, which runs from 10:00 to 13:00, is the perfect programme.
Working on techniques, tactics and match situations, players aged 12 and above will be part of a fun but focused camp where there will be personalized training strategies as well as putting their skills to the test through practice games.
FC Dubai and It’s Just Football are no strangers to hosting camps with their previous being well liked and 2018 looks set to be no different.
“Our football specific camps are always very popular, mainly due to the high standard of coaching, the venues we use and the environment we create for the children to learn, enjoy and excel,” said Lee Mannion, head coach at It’s Just Football. “We expect nothing different over this summer and the bookings have already be coming in very quickly.
“The camp will consist of weekly themes so the children will know exactly what the outcomes will be and everyday as they arrive they will know what the plans are for that day. The children can expect to learn lots skills, techniques and team play whilst having lots of fun in a friendly, safe environment.”
For the summer camp, parents can choose from three options: half a day (09:00 to 12:00 or 13:00 to 16:00) costs Dh150, while it’s Dh400 for three days or Dh650 for five days. For those who want to attend the full day, then it’s Dh250 daily, Dh650 for three days or Dh1,000 for five days.
The development camp costs Dh150 for one day, Dh400 for three days or Dh650 for five days.
With a week to go until it begins, Mannion believes there many reasons why parents should enroll their children.
“If you want your child to feel encouraged, safe and challenged with Dubai’s most qualified team of football coaches then this is the camp for,” he said.
“With our amazing indoor facilities that not only include the pitches but also comfortable areas for the players to rest during the break times we set the environment for learning and development.”

Head to Laguna Waterpark at La Mer on Thursday and be part of the record-breaking World’s Largest Swimming Lesson (WLSL).
Taking place from 18:00 to 18:30, this official day assigned by the World Waterpark association, various waterparks and water associations all over the world will unite to educate people on the importance of swimming lessons for children and its vital role in the prevention of drowning.
It will be the ninth time that the WLSL will host the lesson with Dubai just one of many locations in more than 20 countries in five continents on the list. So far, more than 236,000 children and adults have participated since the initiative was launched.
To mark this important occasion, Laguna Waterpark is offering the chance for guests to take part in the free activity and as part of the Dhs99 admission price.
All guests who are at the park on the day can register to take part to ensure a place for them and their child. Prior to and after the lesson, participants are free to enjoy the pursuits of Laguna and all it has to offer.
Anyone who visits will not be short of options in the UAE’s newest waterpark. Only opened in May, it has been a huge success with hundreds flocking to the venue. Thrill-seekers can experience the heart-dropping adventures of the Free Fall, while the laid-back folk can relax in the infinity pool with juice bar, and the young ones can play at the AquaPlay. If all that fun gets tiring, they can re-fuel at the various food spots spread across the waterpark.
Along with this, participating guests will receive a certificate for their contribution and participation in the event.

With the World Cup fever now upon us, footballers can lace up their boots and take to the pitch for Fit On Click’s brand new football tournament next month.
To be held at Dubai Stars Sportsplex from July 13, a total of 16 corporate teams will battle for glory in the five-a-side format.
The event is the eighth edition with organisers Fit on Click also holding various football and cricket tournaments before. It fits in line with their vision to providing exciting platform for corporate employees to be fit and active.
Every edition has been hugely successful and next month’s is set to be no different.
“We started with 16 teams in our 1st edition of corporate football tournament Dubai in 2017 and since then corporate teams are eagerly waiting for the next edition to launch,” said Ben Samuel, founder and CEO of Fit on Click.
“More and more corporates participating in the tournament itself is a success. The feedback we got from all our corporates who participated has been positive.”
He added: “’Through this and other sports engagement activities, we encourage corporate employees in UAE to maintain a healthy lifestyle by playing a sport they enjoy in a fun and competitive environment.”
Teams will be split into four groups of four with each side guaranteed a minimum of three games. The top two sides will then advance to the knockouts ahead of the finale on July 20. Entry fee costs Dh4,200 which includes jersey tops for 10 squad players.
Besides the winning trophy, there is plenty to play for cash prizes up for grabs as well as individual accolades including best goalkeeper and highest goal scorer.
With a few weeks to go until the tournament begins, Samuel believes it will be one not to miss.
“Although it’s a football tournament and prizes can be won, most important thing a corporate can achieve through this tournament is stimulated teamwork,” he said. “It enhances confidence among the team players, improves communication and working relationship in the office and all of this can have a positive impact on the company.
“Fit On Click Tournaments are the most professional tournaments in the region where teams can not only have fun but also network with other leading corporates participating. We invite them to be our 2nd champions after Chalhoub Group and win the Corporate cup and cash prizes.”
