Ditch the boring company get-togethers and opt for a unique team-building exercise with Rush-A-Way’s Corporate Challenge, which returns for its third season.
The inter-company competition, which is presented by LivFit By Oman Insurance and held on Saturday, September 22, will test teams with seven challenges across Dubai in a thrilling adventure around the city.
Create your team of three to four members to tackle the challenges, which will test mental and physical fitness, as well as teamwork and quick thinking.
The challenges won’t be revealed until the day of the race, but you can expect something similar to previous editions, which featured stand-up paddle-boarding, go-karting, parkour, archery, calisthenics, escape games and more.
At each challenge, teams will earn points based on how fast they complete the task. Once the challenge is completed, teams will receive the location details for the next challenge through the Rush-A-Way app.
Teams that don’t finish a challenge in the given time will receive a penalty. At the end of the race, the teams with the highest score will earn the title and bragging rights.
Medals, trophies and prizes will be presented to teams who finish in first, second and third place, while an excellence award will be given to the organisation with the most entries to recognise their commitment to employee development. Finally, a best performing company award will be presented to the organisation whose top three teams accumulate the most points in the race.
Only 100 team spots are available for the Corporate Challenge, so make sure to get your squad signed up early before places run out.
Regular registration costs Dh1,196 for teams of four, while last-minute registration, which takes effect from September 1-13, is Dh1,300 for teams of four. Included in the fee are t-shirts branded with your company logo, lunch and entertainment.
All team members must be at least 16 years old and one member must have a driving licence to drive between challenges.
Gather your crew and see if you have what it takes to outwit and outplay the rest in the Corporate Challenge.

Some people might dismiss synchronised swimming as a bit of fun and not a serious sport – but the opposite is in fact the case.
As SporteX Artistic Swimming proudly state: “Synchronised swimming is swimming, dance and gymnastics, all rolled into one!”
“It is best defined as a series of dance steps performed over and under the surface of water.
“The choreography may look a little cheesy, but it’s loads of fun and one tough workout.
“While it may appear to be nothing but a glamorous sport, with the swimmers all decked up in elaborate makeup, the reality is far from it.
“In fact, synchronized swimming is one of the few sports that require the swimmers to possess a host of skills and different levels of physical fitness.”
SporteX is the best place to learn synchronized swimming in the UAE.
The Artistic Swimming experts have been running now for over six years under the guidance of an Olympic level coach.
The academy has grown steadily to now operate in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi with almost 120 swimmers involved.
“All girls from five years and above, who are water safe, are welcomed to join our academy,” explained co-founder Ahmed Hossam.
“Our aim is to focus on mental and physical preparation for our athletes.”
Although a relatively new sport in the UAE, SporteX have more than 10 different nationalities among their synchronized swimmers, including four Emiratis between 5-13 years old.
SporteX have also managed to register the sport as the 4th UAE swimming federation activity beside swimming, diving and water-polo.
Recently their annual event was held with great success, under the patronage and presence of the UAE Swimming Federation

The Zayed Sports City Academy Ice Skating Camp is coming to a close but there’s still time for children to sign up and see for themselves why it’s so highly rated.
The camp runs until August 16 and since it opened at the beginning of July, there has been no shortage of numbers.
With the camp promoting rapid improvement with ZSC’s certified coaches, skaters of all levels aged between five and 12 can learn the importance of co-ordination, balance, endurance and enhance their skating ability through multiple on-ice sessions.
“Our ice camp is more than a decade old and it has undergone some significant improvements since it first started,” said Sigi Meeuws, director of ZSC Academy.
“Since 2016, the camp has operated as ZSC Academy Sports Camp, which has resulted in an even more fun, safe and growth-oriented programme. We maintain the important principles of a low student-to-coach ratio and the Ice Skating Institute of Asia-based curriculum. We have been adding more instruction while refining the complementary off-ice programming. So far this summer we’ve had a full house.”
Six weeks of ZSC Kids Camp and you get to choose which week to join! Great indoor activities, games and sports are set to keep your kids active during school break. Contact 02 403 4222// [email protected] pic.twitter.com/bc6Fw42IG2— Zayed Sports City (@ZayedSportsCity) July 5, 2018
The camp runs from 09:00 to 14:00 with early drop-off available at 08:00. Price costs Dh840 per week per child, while it’s Dh756 for siblings.
With two more weeks remaining, Meeuws believes there are many reasons on why parents should enroll their children.
“We start free play at 8:00 am to accommodate working families, then move into warm-ups before the first coaching session,” he said. “The children go on the ice three times each day, where they are given formal instruction as well as the opportunity for self-directed practice under the watch of our coaches.
“We’ll also be playing games off of the ice, which are intended to develop a well-rounded skater.”
He added: “Kids need to be active year-round, and with summer holidays and heat, it can be more difficult to find ways to engage the kids with sport. Our ice skating programme with ZSC Academy Sports Camp has the perfect balance of fun and exercise, and every camper gains not only skills on the ice, but also makes new friends and gains confidence that make them want to come back again.”
