  • Cheyenne Woods is ready to step up to the challenge as she returns to the UAE for Omega Dubai Moonlight Classic at Emirates Golf Club from May 1-3.

Following in the footsteps of her uncle Tiger, who recently won the Masters to claim his fifth green jacket, Cheyenne is a golfing sensation in her own right.

Continuing the Woods family legacy, the 28-year-old is set to compete against 56 leading Ladies European Tour players in the world’s first professional day-night golf tournament in just over a weeks time.

The American will have a different challenge this year, though, with the new tournament format set to take place under the LED floodlights on the Sir Nick Faldo designed course.

The Phoenix native made her first appearance on the LET in 2013 and secured her first career victory at the 2014 Volvik RACV Ladies Masters in Australia.

With four top 10 finishes, including her last appearance in Dubai at the 2016 Omega Dubai Ladies Masters where she finished in a tie for 10th, Woods will have her sights set firmly on the famous ‘Dallah Trophy’ at the Moonlight Classic.

David Spencer, Tournament Director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Cheyenne back to Dubai for the new Omega Dubai Moonlight Classic. She is an extremely talented golfer and is always a crowd favourite.

“To have Cheyenne playing alongside the strong field of confirmed amateurs and professionals will make this years tournament extra special and we wish her the best of luck.”

The tournament is free entry for all three rounds. Fans are encouraged to come and watch the world’s best female golfers and experience this inaugural event on the Faldo course.
