Dubai Golf is proud to reveal exciting upgrades following significant investments to its iconic Greg Norman-designed Fire Course, located at its world-class golfing destination Jumeirah Golf Estates.
With excitement building ahead of the annual DP World Championship which returns to host venue Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 21-24, the reinvigorated Fire Course is ready to welcome players hot off the back of the golfing action this month.
Designed by golf legend Greg Norman, the 18-hole, 7,480 yard Fire Course was designed to exist in harmony with the natural desert landscape, offering a fiery challenge for golfers of all abilities.
Thanks to recent upgrades, the course, first built in 2010, has been reinvigorated to reflect its original design intent.
Significant enhancements have been made to the Fire Course’s design aesthetic, with redefined fairways to help improve players’ precision, and strategic updates to landscaping and grass lines to recreate the risk reward strategy originally intended by Greg Norman.
Enhancements will continue into 2020, with plans to improve the design of the native desert setting, helping the course blend seamlessly into its environment, which is a key element of Fire’s theme.
The bunkers, which contribute to Fire Course’s challenging reputation and unique topography will also be improved to keep players on their toes, and continue delivering an experience they’ll want to repeat time and time again.
Greg Norman, professional golfing legend and course designer, said: “From a design perspective, the Fire Course is worthy of recognition equal to that of the Earth Course and should be regarded as one of the region’s finest.
“The Fire delivers a true test of golf where risk and reward holes abound, and takes the honor of my personal favorite of the two.
“Exposed wind, elevation changes, long reed grass and sand dunes that mimic those of the Dubai landscape make for a visually stunning and challenging layout with an abundance of variation that leave the golfer wanting more.”
The newly enhanced Fire Course is ready to welcome players, boasting a slick new golfing experience for players looking to swing into the golfing spirit and perfect their game following the excitement of the Race To Dubai tour.
