  • Ready for challenge: Leading European Challenge Tour players.

The leading European Challenge Tour players on the Road to Oman Rankings are in Dubai to compete in the ICAEW Challenge Tour Pro-Am at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

A field of 21 players will gather on the Fire course on Wednesday in what promises to be a captivating event that will provide ideal preparation for next week’s crucial season-ending NBO Golf Classic Grand Final at Almouj Golf, The Wave in Muscat.

    – Hong Kong: Rose holds firm to win title by one shot

    – Nomura Cup: Japan win 27th edition over Taiwan
    – Oman: Blomstrand wins at Muscat Hills on MENA debut

The players will also provide a unique experience for the members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) who will play alongside the professionals.

Ricardo Gouveia, currently first on the 2015 Road to Oman Rankings, Borja Virto Astudillo (third), Gary Boyd (sixth), Jens Fahrbring (seventh) and Rhys Davies (eighth) are some of the players looking to fine tune their games in preparation for a final assault on the Rankings.

ICAEW’s Michael Armstrong said: “We are delighted to be a part of this prestigious event and to work with partners who are as dedicated to supporting and promoting talent in their field as we are in ours.

“This initiative will give our members an opportunity to come together in a slightly different setting, away from the office. We want to ensure that our members’ experience is always of the best quality.”

Nick Tarratt, Director, European Tour’s Dubai Office said: “We are delighted to welcome some of the best players on this season’s European Challenge Tour to Dubai.

“The ICAEW Challenge Tour Pro-Am will be an unforgettable experience for the amateur competitors while the professionals are delighted to have the chance to play in a competitive environment before heading to Oman next week for the climax to what has been a fascinating season on the Challenge Tour.”
