  • John Hahn and his team celebrate winning the ICAEW Challenge Tour Pro-Am.

American John Hahn and his team of Adam Man-Cheung (28), Manraj Bindra (20) and Robert Fairfax (23) were in excellent form in the ICAEW Challenge Tour Pro-Am finishing with 86 Stableford points at the Fire course at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

His team finished at the summit of the leaderboard against 20 of the finest European Challenge Tour players on the Road to Oman Rankings.

Professional Hahn managed 6 birdies himself to lead the team to a 3 point victory from the side captained by Ryan Evans in second place followed by the team led by Max Orrin. Evans’ team won on a countback after a competitive contest.

John Hahn, who is currently ranked 15th in the Road to Oman, was delighted with the victory and how his preparation is going leading up to the final event in Muscat: “I really enjoyed the ICAEW Pro-Am and I am having a great week here at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

“The facilities at the ETPI are excellent and I am benefitting from all the easy access and equipment.”

“I feel great coming into the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final and hope my form continues so I can secure my card for next season. My game is really good at the moment so I’m feeling confident.”

This Pro-Am was pivotal preparation for next week’s crucial season-ending NBO Golf Classic Grand Final at Almouj Golf in Muscat, Oman.

Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) had an unforgettable experience playing alongside potential future European Tour stars.

Players including Ricardo Gouveia, currently first on the 2015 Road to Oman Rankings, Borja Virto Astudillo (third), Gary Boyd (sixth), Jens Fahrbring (seventh) and Rhys Davies (eighth) were looking to fine tune their games in preparation for a final assault on the Rankings while their amateur playing partners enjoyed learning from the professionals.

As well as playing in this unique tournament, the Challenge Tour professionals will be utilising the amazing facilities at Jumeirah Golf Estates’ European Tour Performance Institute.

Jumeirah Golf Estates will welcome an additional special guest in the shape of swing biomechanics expert Jean Jacques Rivet who will be passing on his knowledge to the players as well as the team at the ETPI.

The top 45 players on the 2015 Road to Oman Rankings qualify for next week’s NBO Golf Classic Grand Final after which the top 15 ranked players will earn their playing privileges on the 2016 European Tour International Schedule.

Nick Tarratt, Director, European Tour International Dubai Office said: “We have had a great day on Fire course and both the pros and amateurs had some fun with some impressive scoring.

“This is the highlight of the week at Jumeirah Golf Estates and thanks have to go to ICAEW and Jumeirah Golf Estates for making it happen.”
