  • Champions: Arkesh Bhatia (3rd r) and other winners pose with their trophies.

Defending champion Arkesh Bhatia put together two solid rounds to successfully defend his Dubai Creek Junior Club Champion title.

Bhatia opened with a three-over par 74 in the two-round, 36-hole tournament, thus enjoying a twoshot overnight lead over Dhruv Nair.

Jai Bhalla was also in contention and his 76 helped him make it to the leadergroup on the second day along with Bhatia and Nair.

Nair closed the gap in the first 12 holes in the final round as he dropped just two shots compared to four by Bhatia and both were tied on six-over par through 30 holes.

Bhatia then produced a birdie on the 13th hole to go one shot ahead. Despite a good run at the title, Nair found the water off the tee on the demanding 18th hole and went on to make a double.

That left Bhatia with a comfortable two-putt from 15 feet for par and secure the title by three shots with a second-round 73. Although narrowly missing out down the stretch, Nair carded rounds of 76 and 74 and finished overall runner up.

Adam Savage shot 75 on the second day to go with his 79 on the opening day and pip Bhalla to the third place.

Eshna Bhargava (82-81) was crowned Girls Junior champion, with Natalie Gupta second two shots behind with rounds of 83 and 82. There were trophies for best net performances as well.

Taking the top spot and joining his brother amongst the winners was Rishi Nair with two rounds of 69.

Savage and Tyra Sabharwal finished tied on a two-day total of 144 but Savage was declared victorious on a countback.
