The race began early at the New Boardwalk on the Crescent (6.40am), before runners ran through the usually vehicle-only Palm Tunnel in a truly unique experience.
Competitors then hit the finish line at Al Ittihad Park on the Palm Jumeirah Trunk after a loop of the well-known running track.
The first event of its kind proved to be a big success as runners picked up medals and complimentary t-shirts afterย completing their run.
