The sudden, shocking death of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes has seen an outpouring of emotional tributes from cricketers, fans and general observers moved by the tragic incident that cut short the 25-year-old’s life this week.
So much so that Twitter has become its own memorial service abd tribute platform for everyone and anyone who has been effected by the tragedy.
One Sydney fan paid tribute to Hughes by posting a photo of his cricket bat outside his house with a cap draped over the handle with the words: “#RIPPhillipHughes #putyourbatsout”.
Since his post a host of cricketing stars and fans have jumped on the hashtag to share their own marks of respect for Hughes and seen the hashtag trend all over the world on Twitter.
