Speaking about this year’s event, Sam Katiela said: “this year is a very special year for us as the event is under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum and this means so much to us. His patronage is a confirmation that we can do these kind of events here in Dubai and that we have the infrastructure, technical skills, knowhow and most importantly, the will power to host such an extravagant sporting event that has gone global right here from Dubai”.

Each team will have three players with this year’s tournament providing a mix of UAE and international players participating. This year there are three players from the UAE being Saoud Khoory, who has been playing polo since the age of 14 and Tariq and Rashid Albwardy, sons of Mr. Ali Albwardy, one of the world’s biggest polo patrons & owner of the Desert Palm Polo Club.

Returning to the event are defending champions Team VistaJet and Bombardier, Team Cadillac (Middle East), Team Lindt and Team Autism Rocks.
