  • Dubai-based AUH Motorsports yesterday announced the appointment of Ian Bickerton as team manager.

Bickerton, an experienced race engineer and team manager who runs his own engineering business in Brackley Oxfordshire, will join AUH next month.

Prior to working with AUH Motorsports, Bickerton spent the last three years working independently on projects such as the Caparo T1 road/race car, track support and the rebuild of eight historic group C cars, working with FF Corse (Ferrari) and the Ascari works team.

In 2003, Bickerton established Creation Autosportif and was responsible for the running of the Creation LMP 1 car and Lister Storm GT1 cars which ran in European and American Le Mans Series and the Le Mans 24 hours.

Prior to this, Bickerton has worked with Lister Storm Racing, Triple Eight racing, Parabolica Motorsports, Scandia Motorsports (Seattle), Spice Engineering and Tom Walkinshaw Racing.

Carl Rolaston, CEO of AUH Motorsports, said: “We are excited to have Bicks join the AUH team. His experience in the motorsports industry will enable us to develop our race business and improve the standards of service that we offer to our drivers.

“By attracting seasoned race professionals like Bicks to the UAE, the sport will benefit, particularly at the national level.”
