  • The 10th round of the 2023 Formula One season is upon us!

Red Bull hold a commanding lead at the top of the constructors’ championship while Max Verstappen’s dominance in the drivers’ championship is even more pronounced.

With the fastest cars and drivers in motorsport ready to zip around the track again at the Hungarian Grand Prix, here are the Top 10 stats you need to know…

    1. The last two winners of this race started from 8th (Esteban Ocon) and 10th (Max Verstappen) on the grid.

    2. Max Verstappen is the first driver in over two decades to win five consecutive races from pole position. One more win from pole this weekend could see him equal Michael Schumacher’s record of six which he set in 2000-01.

    3. If the Dutchman finishes on the podium it would be his 12th straight podium in F1. Only three other drivers have registered more podiums in a row – Michael Schumacher (19), Lewis Hamilton (16), Fernando Alonso (15).

    4. If they secure a win at the Hungarian GP, Red Bull will become the first team in history to record 12 consecutive race triumphs.

    5. It would also make them the second team after McLaren to win the first eleven races of a season.

    6. A podium finish for either driver would make the team the fifth in F1 history to achieve 250 podium finishes.

    7. McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes have the most pole positions here with eight poles apiece.

    8. The driver starting third has won more races here (8) than the driver starting second (6).

    9. Fernando Alonso took his first win in F1 at the Hungaroring in 2003 and has scored in every Hungarian GP he’s entered since 2010

    10. Carlos Sainz has scored in each of his last seven visits to Hungary.
