At one point I was expecting a first-place finish in Round 5, but luck was not on my side.

I finished second in Race 1 and third in Race 2, which is a very positive result overall, even though I wanted more.

The free practice that took place before the fifth round was great. We just worked fine tuning some suspension settings for the race pace and the bike was ready to go and on the last session we noticed some improvements and everything looked okay.

We did the warm-up session on the next day and then we started off the qualifying phase. Eventually I qualified in second place about 3 tenth of a second from P1.

What I was really happy about however was the fact that I broke my personal-best record in the qualifying stages and later on in the race as well.

That gave me a confidence boost before the race and I knew that I can still keep on improving.

In Race 1 I had a commendable start and after the third lap I noticed that my pace was gradually increasing and I was on route to fight with the leader and everything looked pretty promising

However, I had a small issue with the bike’s throttle. It somehow got stuck with one of my gloves, so the brakes got stuck and I could not carry on with the race, so I had to stop and stay on the side to avoid any accident or crashes.

In doing so I lost 10 seconds and that was disappointing, but overall I was happy that I stayed on the bike and I did not crash, even though felt that I had a great chance of fighting for the first position if that little incident did not happen.

At the end of the day we should always take the positives and make sure that these kind of mistakes do not happen again.

Throughout Race 2 I was fighting for a second place finish which we got and I enjoyed the intense battle with Ahmad who had a great pace but I did not have any plans on finishing 3rd in that fight!

All-in-all it was a very positive weekend and it showed that there is still a room for improvements.

The next round will take place on the 11th of March and we will prepare for that round with good momentum and confidence.
