The series, supported by Toyota and Al Futtaim, consists of 12 races that will take place over six weekends, the first of which runs alongside the Gulf 12 Hours.
Al Bastaki said: “Since my childhood, I have always known that I want to race – a desire which has been only growing stronger over time.
“Initially, it was Open Track Days that satiated my love of racing, and my passion has deepened even more after attending F1 and endurance races.
“I am truly looking forward to participating in the TRD 86 Cup and experiencing the competition nature of racing, while cultivating the discipline and attitude that is required to perform well and win.”
Al Bastaki is racing under the full sponsorship of KBS Communications and OBS Group, both local companies.
KBS Communications CEO Kawthar Bin Sulayem said: “It is a pleasure to extend our support to Farhan Al Bastaki as he undertakes this opportunity to enhance his racing talent, bringing him one step closer in his racing journey.
“The motorsport culture in the UAE is strong, but there is still a lack of awareness of the importance of PR and media in the sport, and as a boutique PR and media agency, we hope to emphasise the importance of media engagement across all types of industries including racing.
“One of our values at KBS Communications is to project UAE national values to a global audience by supporting UAE talent.”
