  • 1st place win: Mahmoud Tannir.

It was a rather good start to the UAE Championship. Initially I was concerned about us not being able to practice as the autodrome was soaked in rain.

The settings were done and ready and when it rained I got worried that our time and effort will go to waste.

On the next day we had a little time to practice and check everything out. Then the warm-up session came along shortly.

The track condition was not optimum but with all these obstacles though we managed to get to pole position and I am very pleased with the outcome.

Our confidence has been boosted and we feel that we are ready for any challenges.

After qualifying in 1st place we managed to win Race 1 by a small margin, beating Abdulaziz Bin Laden.

However, we had to be content with Race 2 after challenging another ride, and that allowed Abdulaziz to widen the gap between us and claim the win.

All in all it was a decent start to the season, and we want to get better by every race.

Now that we are thinking of Round 2 of the UAE Championship, there has been some sort of a clash in timings as the fourth round of the Qatar Superbike Championship will take place on the weekend.

We spoke to the organizers and they shall look into the situation.

    Cruising to victory: Tannir.

For our preparation we took our bike to the dynamo to work on the engine and the power of the bike.

The top end power is excellent, but the bottom end is not good enough.

It is a good opportunity for us to test the engine and check if there is anything extra that we can do to make it better.

On Friday I shall test the engine again, and there will be a track day, and every aspect of the bike will be noted down so we can improve.

Racing on a tight budget is not ideal, and we are still looking for the right sponsorships that can fund us properly.

As we race we are always extra careful because if a crash took place then more money will have to be paid to fix and maintain the bike.

We have been using the same set of tyres as well, and that is simply not good enough if we are eager to compete in all fronts.

I truly appreciate the sponsors we have, they were behind us all along.

But in order to win championships and compete with the best we need the right amount of money to do so.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family and friends, who have been supporting me since day one.

The racing and the championships have kept me busy and I did not manage to stay in touch properly, but they are always in my heart and mind and their efforts will always be appreciated.

So let’s hope we can do a good job this season, and prove that we have the ability to compete and win titles.
