  • Success: The third-ever NAS Night Challenge

Over one thousand participants turned out for this year’s NAS Night Challenge – Dubai’s only nighttime obstacle course.

Participation levels were at an all time high on both nights, with 960 participants and 600 spectators at the team event on the opening night, and 1,300 participants along with 700 spectators at the individual event the following week. In a special appearance Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubaiand Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, headed down to the Nad Al Sheba Complex to check out the course before the events kicked off.

The quickest time on the clock was from Mohammed Mira, who made it around in the male pro heat in just 22 minutes. The 4km course was jam-packed with obstacles, featuring a brand-new tightrope, three dips under ice-cold water and challenging monkey bars. Participants were cheered on by family and friends as music played into the early hours, creating a party atmosphere.

Participants over the age of 16 chose to compete in various categories including Male Individual, Female Individual, 4km Open Individual, Male Team, Female Team, Mixed Team and 4km Team Individual.

The event, now in its third year, offered more prize money than ever before, with the male, female and team professional heats being in with a shout of winning part of the AED144,000 prize money.
