  • Ready to play: The Dubai U17's and their team of coaching staff ahead of their trip to England.

Dubai Under-17s netball team will attend their first international tournament when they travel to England to compete in the 2015 Netball Europe Championships.

The competition will see England U17s, Scotland U17s, WalesU17s and Northern Ireland U17s compete in the Championship bracket while Dubai will face Switzerland U17s, Gibraltar U17s and Malta U17s in the Development bracket.

Flying high: The girls are leaving Wednesday for the tournament starting Friday.

Susan Skelding, who owns Top Sports Coaching, where the girls train, said: “The girls are super excited and itching to board the plane to the tournament. Both the girls and the parents have worked extremely hard to get the team ready for this once in a lifetime trip.”

At their final training session, the girls were presented with their gameday kit and tracksuits as well as getting a full training session under the supervision of England netball greats Maggie Jackson & Mary Beardwood.

The team flies out on Wednesday and the tournament begins in Hull on Friday. Team Dubai are hoping this will be the first of many international tournaments with both the Asian Games and the World Championships on the horizon.
