The Super League Basketball Championship tipped off this week under the organisation of Sports Mania UAE at Al Wasl Sports Club – UAE under the supervision of the Dubai Sports Council and UAE Basketball Federation.
Eight teams, Jedis, Sportech, Aramex, Swish, Ghost Honey, Triple Threat, Chalhoub Group and Hoopers are competing for the title.
The week one opener saw a deserved victory for Sportech Team over Jedis – star man Mamadou Nidaye was awarded the most valuable player of the game. Also in action on the day were Hoopers, who grabbed the win over Aramex with Issam Termanini winning the MVP.
A heroic performance from Al Hassan Dandash, saw him hit a three point buzzer beater to give Triple Threat victory over Ghost Honey with a final score 89-87. Swish Team recorded a win over Chalhoub Group with Assane Boye claiming the MVP accolade.
