    UAE OPEN BADMINTON TOURNAMENT
    Monday, May 18 – Friday, June 12

    Launched in 1978, the tournament is the oldest of its kind in the UAE and is open to players who reside both locally and abroad. A total of eight ranked players from India and Malaysia have been invited and the winners will walk away with cash prizes, trophies and gift hampers worth more than AED 60,000. There are 26 categories catering for all age-groups from U-8 to veterans.

    PHILIPPINE BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION GOVERNOR’S CUP
    Thursday, May 21 – Friday, May 22

    Three PBA teams are coming to play in the Dubai tournament. Ginebra are the most popular PBA team and will surely cause a buzz. Rain or Shine are a constant presence in most tournament finals and expansion Batang Global Port complete the line up. Thursday’s match is between Rain or Shine and Batang Global Port and on Friday Rain or Shine take on much-fancied Ginebra.

    Ginebra are the most popular team in the Philippines.

    THE NATIONAL SCHOOLS SPORT QUIZ

    Secondary schools from across the UAE will be competing to win the ultimate prize of being crowned National Schools Sport Quiz champions. The questions asked will be based on popular sports within the region including tennis, football, cricket and basketball.

    The age of the children contending will be 11-15  years old (year 7-10, grade 6-9).

    GOLF FOR HARRISONS FUND
    Friday, May 22

    AL GAFFAL TRADITIONAL 60FT DHOW RACE
    Saturday, May 23

    The traditional sailing race honours the pearl divers who were integral to the emirate’s development as a young trading port. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the race features around 100 traditional boats. Spectators can watch from specially chartered Dubai Ferry rides which include food and beverages.

    NATIONAL SCHOOL LEAGUE BASKETBALL

    Sport360’s inaugural UAE-wide school basketball league is reaching fever pitch as we enter the quarter-finals. It’s Game 7 between the Houston Rockets and the LA Clippers in the NBA, but could the next Blake Griffin be lurking in the UAE?

    PRESIDENT’S CUP

    Local pride is up for stake when the President’s Cup ticks over into the quarter-final stage. Can Al Ain hold onto the trophy to complete a domestic double, will Al Ahli save their season or will a lesser light such as Al Dhafra shine?

    CITY FOOTBALL SCHOOLS IN AL AIN
    April 13 – June 17

    Manchester City’s Football Schools programme is running weekly training sessions for young players in Al Ain over the course of the next two months, bringing the Premier League champions’ style and coaching product to the UAE.

    The professional coaching team offers a wide range of sessions available to boys and girls aged 5-14. All new players will also receive a City Football Schools kit.
